Geisinger physician named Dermatologist of the Year
Dr. Mowad, who has practiced dermatology for more than 20 years, was nominated and selected by her peers for the honor. She is a past president of PAD and is a current member of the organization’s board.
According to the presenting organization, the award recognizes a member of the organization who is a leader and role model in dermatological care. The organization notes that winners stand out among other dermatologists as having extraordinary qualities as a physician.
“Dr. Mowad is not only a phenomenal dermatologist, but she is a wonderful caring individual and a role model for medical students and young physicians,” said Rosalie Elenitsas, M.D., President, Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery.
In addition to this honor, Dr. Mowad has received the American Contact Dermatitis Society Clinical Research Award, has been named a “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering” and to the list of “Best Doctors in America” since 2005.
Dr. Mowad has practiced at Geisinger since 1998 and has a clinical expertise is allergic contact dermatitis. She is a 1987 graduate of Bucknell University and received her medical degree from MD University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
