CAMP HILL, Pa. –  John Darrell, M.D., has joined the staff of Geisinger Holy Spirit Cardiothoracic Surgery.

Board-certified in both general and thoracic surgery, Dr. Darrell earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed an internship and a general surgery residency at The Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va., and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at George Washington University Medical Center, Washington, D.C.

Over the past 28 years, Dr. Darrell has focused his practice on adult cardiac surgery. During his career, he has developed and led high-quality cardiac surgery programs in both suburban Pittsburgh and central Pennsylvania.

“I am very pleased to offer my experience in cardiothoracic surgery to enhance an already well-established program at Geisinger Holy Spirit,” Dr. Darrell said. “Our local community has a great option for these highly specialized services, with the backing and resources of the larger Geisinger system.”

Geisinger Holy Spirit’s cardiothoracic surgeons perform coronary artery bypass, both on- and off-pump, aortic valve replacement, and procedures on the thoracic aorta. They work side-by-side with their cardiology colleagues to perform Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR).

Dr. Darrell sees patients at 875 Poplar Church Road, Camp Hill. To make an appointment, call 717-975-0900.
