Proceeds to go towards hospital’s new childbirth center

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – “A Vintage Affair” wine pairing event will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Caldwell Consistory, 150 Market St., Bloomsburg. Proceeds benefit Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital’s new childbirth center.

Hosted by the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary, the event will include wine selections from Protecom/Pedro H. Valdes, tapas-style dining by A Taste of Italy, a special raffle presented by Walker’s Jewelers, and a silent auction featuring locally made goods, fine art, jewelry, collectibles and more.

“We pride ourselves in taking great care of expecting mothers and their babies,” said Lissa Bryan-Smith, chief administrative officer, Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. “It’s events like this that ensure we can continue to provide local women the best options for low-risk, low-intervention childbirth including highly-skilled obstetricians, certified-nurse midwives and specialty equipment such as our labor tubs.”

Last year’s event raised more than $30,000 for women’s health programs at the hospital, which went towards renovating and expanding the hospital’s childbirth center. The updates, completed in the spring of 2017, included renovations and the creation of a new postpartum unit for families to rest and bond with their babies.

Tickets are $75 per person. For reservations or sponsorship information, visit Geisinger.org/FoundationEvents or call 570-214-0300. Deadline for reservations is Saturday, March 17.
