Geisinger clinics’ patient experience ranked top 10 percent nationally

LEWISTOWN, Pa. – Four outpatient clinics and inpatient units of Geisinger Western Region are among the top 10 percent in the nation for delivering the best patient experience to their patients, according to Press Ganey.
The Interventional Pain Center at Geisinger Gray's Woods, Radiology Department at Geisinger Bellefonte, Radiology Mobile Unit at Mifflintown and Wound Care Department at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital received remarkably high patient satisfaction scores placing them in the 90th percentile or better in Press Ganey’s national database of 17,896 clinics.
“Our business is the business of caring for people and I congratulate the teams for displaying a commitment to delivering the very best, most caring and compassionate care and experience for their patients and our community.,” said Kirk Thomas, chief administrative officer, Geisinger Western Region.
Press Ganey recognizes a select group of health care providers with awards that recognize efforts to improve the quality and safety of patient care, to provide a positive and collaborative environment for employees and physicians, and ultimately to deliver exceptional patient experiences.
The clinics were identified for the honor by results of patient satisfaction surveys. They were compared to approximately 60 percent of all other health care organizations throughout the country that use Press Ganey surveys.
