SCRANTON, Pa.Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) will kick off a new summer grilling menu starting on Monday, June 11. The menu will include a fresh-grilled selection of healthy burgers, sandwiches and street-inspired food items, grilled and served outdoors, for employees, patients and visitors to purchase throughout the summer months. 

A rotating selection of street food-inspired but healthy items will be offered, including:

  • Korean street tacos
  • Elote chicken or tempeh bowl
  • Portobella pups

The cookout will take place every Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (weather permitting) on the side patio of GCMC’s Professional Office Building, 315 Colfax Ave., Scranton. To kick off the grilling menu on June 11, Geisinger executive chef Matt Cervay will be on site to man the grill and offer healthy, summer grilling tips. 

“We’re providing menu items that are both healthy and tasty, inspired by the summer season,” said Chef Cervay. “Our grilling menu focuses on lean proteins, whole grains, veggies, fruits, fresh ingredients –good-for-you food with a gourmet twist.” 

Each meal ticket costs $6 which includes a sandwich or street-inspired item, a side of fresh watermelon or chopped side salad, and a bottle of water. Meal tickets can be purchased at the grill site (cash only), or inside GCMC’s cafeteria or coffee kiosk in the main lobby (cash or credit card).
