CAMP HILL, Pa. Geisinger Holy Spirit hosts two free ongoing support groups to promote respiratory health and encourage those who want to stop smoking.

The American Lung Association’s Better Breathers Club provides support for people with chronic lung diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema and chronic bronchitis, and their loved ones. Participants learn how to manage their conditions and connect with resources and activities in the community that can help manage day-to-day life.

Geisinger Holy Spirit’s smoking cessation support group promotes and encourages a healthy smoke-free lifestyle. Research shows that most smokers make up to nine attempts to quit before succeeding, and that group support can improve the success rate for those seeking to quit.

Both groups meet the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Ortenzio Heart Center at Geisinger Holy Spirit, 503 N. 21st St., Camp Hill. Both groups are free and open to the public and no registration is required. For more information, call 717-763-2775.
