DANVILLE, Pa. – Families and friends of Geisinger patients can now deliver gifts to their loved one with a click of a button using the health system’s new online gift shop.

Balloons, gift baskets and flowers are some of the offerings that the public can order, pay and send to a patient using the new online shop. Each of the health system’s online stores has its own customized page that reflects their individual offerings.

“Some families and friends may be out of the area and unable to visit a loved one while in the hospital,” said Stacy Fisher, senior director of guest services for Geisinger. “This new offering at Geisinger allows them to send their well-wishes and thoughts even though they aren’t able to be by their side.”

Geisinger’s new online shop is easily navigated by visiting Geisinger.org and is available to the public seven days a week. Gifts that are sent to a patient that has already been discharged will automatically be rerouted to the patient’s current location.

The online shop is provided by hospitalgiftshop.com out of San Diego, Calif. Jim Thomas, the president of the company, said this endeavor is all about connecting people with people.

“We are very excited to partner with Geisinger,” said Thomas. “With the addition of an online gift shop to their website, hospitalgiftshop.com will assist in connecting thousands of patients each year to their friends and family.”
