Programs offered in Dillsburg and Enola

CAMP HILL, Pa. –  Geisinger Holy Spirit hosts two free ongoing education and support groups for people with diabetes and those at risk for developing the disease.

Geisinger Health and Wellness staff offer a diabetes prevention program every Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Dillsburg Senior Center, 1 N. 2nd St., Dillsburg. Trained lifestyle coaches will help participants lose weight, increase physical activity, and make healthy lifestyle choices that can prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and have pre-diabetes or be at risk for developing diabetes. To register, call 866-415-7138.

“A Touch of Sugar,” Geisinger Holy Spirit’s diabetes support group, meets the second Monday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Weis Markets, 4525 Valley Road, Enola. The February 11 session will discuss the special steps that people with diabetes should take to care for themselves when they are ill. No registration is necessary. Caregivers, family members and friends are welcome to attend. For more information, call 717-763-2466.
