Geisinger employees honored with service excellence awards
15 employees were recognized for service above 35 years with the hospital
LEWISTOWN, Pa. – Geisinger honored employees for their years of dedication and service at the annual Western Region Service Awards held at the Brookmere Winery’s Outdoor Pavilion in Belleville on May 21. Employees were recognized for five to 45 years of service.
“It’s been a beautiful journey of caring for people,” said Vicki Esterline, nursing supervisor, who received an award for 45 years of service. “I’m happy that my life is dedicated to this service.”
“Congratulations to those who received the awards and thank you for caring for our patients,” said Kirk Thomas, chief administrative officer, Geisinger Western Region. “Geisinger values our employees and will always work hand in hand with them to provide the best care for the communities we serve.”
Since Lewistown Hospital became a member of the Geisinger family in 2013, Geisinger Lewistown Hospital has continued to honor employees who were in service since the days of Lewistown Hospital. In addition, Geisinger has introduced and expanded many services and programs within the community.
Services such as women’s health, cardiology, hematology/oncology and interventional pain medicine were moved to the hospital campus for patient convenience. Renovations were done to the emergency department, imaging, cardiology, hematology/oncology, and interventional pain medicine. The hospital’s Caresite pharmacy was upgraded to serve the community better.
