Award winning orthopaedic surgeon appointed as Director for Geisinger Western Region's Musculoskeletal Institute
Dr. Sobolewski obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy in June 2008 and Master of Science in Medical Education in May 2011 at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Lake Erie Consortium for Osteopathic Medical Training in June 2013 and served as Chief Resident from July 2012 to June 2013. Dr Sobolewski specializes in joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder focusing on minimally invasive techniques and the latest technology for expedited recovery. His practice also encompasses general orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine procedures such ACL reconstruction, meniscus/cartilage surgery, arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs, carpal tunnel surgery and fracture care.
Prior to joining Geisinger, Dr. Sobolewski held the position of Medical Director for the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine as well as Chief of Surgery at Somerset Hospital in Pennsylvania. He is currently serving as the Western Region Director for the Geisinger Musculoskeletal Institute.
Dr. Sobolewski is a professional member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, American Osteopathic Association and Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.
