Geisinger Health Plan to cover the cost of coronavirus testing
DANVILLE, Pa. – To ensure that cost is not a barrier in preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) will cover any out-of-pocket fees for coronavirus testing when ordered by a member’s treating medical provider.
This policy will waive any applicable deductibles, co-payments, or other cost-sharing for COVID-19 testing at an approved laboratory for all GHP members who meet Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (DCD) guidelines for testing.
For any questions or concerns about COVID-19, please visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus for current news, testing information and prevention guidelines.
Before visiting a doctor’s office, convenient care clinic or emergency department, call your primary care doctor’s office or call Geisinger’s novel coronavirus hotline at 570-284-3657. For general questions and information about COVID-19, you can visit geisinger.org/coronavirus.
