New website connects area residents with local services

SCRANTON, Pa. – Geisinger encourages Scranton-area residents to use NeighborlyPA.com, a new online resource hub for social, health and human services, to find needed community resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The website connects people with local programs and services including food, child care, housing, mental health services and medical care. Resources are continually updated in response to changes related to COVID-19.

NeighborlyPA.com was created by the Scranton Area Community Foundation and funded by an initial grant from Geisinger. The website launched in March, focusing on Lackawanna County resources, with a plan to expand into other counties in northeast and north-central Pennsylvania over the coming months.

“We have turned conversations, frustration and ‘wouldn’t it be nice’ into a social care platform available to everyone in our community that will address social needs, align resources, and make it easier to help our neighbors,” said Brian Ebersole, senior director of Springboard Health at Geisinger. “NeighborlyPA.com is the place to go to connect with programs and services in our community that can help our neighbors thrive.”

“We appreciate the initial contribution to the Community Resource Network Fund made by Geisinger,” said Scranton Area Community Foundation President and Chief Executive Officer Laura Ducceschi. “Following an extended period of deep conversations with community stakeholders, government agencies and our neighbors, we are excited to see Neighborly introduced as a new resource for those seeking services or those helping others to seek services in the region.”
