SCRANTON, Pa. – Jeffrey Powell, D.O., an internal medicine physician, has joined the Geisinger 65 Forward Health Center team at the Scranton location.

Dr. Powell earned his medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine after completing graduate studies in immunology and virology at Temple University and East Stroudsburg University and undergraduate studies in biology at Temple University. He completed residencies in anesthesiology at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston and in internal medicine at Inspira Medical Center.

Dr. Powell started with Geisinger in 2019 as a family medicine physician at Geisinger Mountain Top until recently joining the 65 Forward Team. Before joining Geisinger, Dr. Powell served as an internal medicine physician and vice president of medical staff as the medical director of diabetic education and physical/rehabilitation services at CHI Health Mercy Corning in Corning, Iowa.

“Joining a unique program like 65 Forward is exciting and allows me to work closer with patients to understand their health care needs,” said Dr. Powell. “Having more time with patients and addressing any gaps in their care all in one place is helping to make health care easier.”

Dr. Powell is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
