Geisinger Medical Clinic Lock Haven now open
Located at 68 Spring St., Geisinger Medical Clinic Lock Haven is now open and is home to new health care services, including a Geisinger ConvenientCare walk-in clinic, specialty services, and soon a Geisinger Pharmacy.
“This facility allows us to expand services to Lock Haven and the surrounding area, making it easier for our neighbors to get the care they need closer to home,” said Tammy Anderer, MSN, CRNP, PhD, chief administrative officer of Geisinger’s north-central region. “We know many people travel for these services, and now we’re providing them here, alongside the other services we’ve provided here for years.”
The two-story facility is approximately 40,000-square feet, has 58 exam rooms, and has approximately 60 full-time employees. Nearly all of the employees now calling Geisinger Medical Clinic Lock Haven home came from the former Geisinger Lock Haven and Geisinger Tiadaghton Health Centers. The services at those two locations have relocated to the new building.
The facility is part of a clinical joint venture between Geisinger and Highmark Health with both organizations making investment to improve existing clinical facilities, develop new ones, expand services and improve access to care across the region.
“This new location is proof that by working collaboratively, we can create a remarkable health care experience for the community by significantly improving access to care,” said Brian Rinker, president of Highmark Heath’s eastern region. “This clearly underscores our shared commitment to the region and the patients and members we collectively serve by bringing local access to high-quality care and real value to our members and customers in this region.”
The facility features adult and pediatric primary care offices, medication therapy management, and imaging and lab services. It also features physical, occupational and speech therapy, orthopaedics, foot care and a specialty clinic with skin care, liver and gut care, kidney care, adult and pediatric heart care, adult and pediatric psychology, surgical services, ear, nose and throat (ENT) care, and women’s health services.
The location is equipped with telemedicine technology to make it easier for patients to connect with other medical specialists without needing to travel to a larger medical facility.
Geisinger ConvenientCare is open seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
