Geisinger becomes the first member of Risant Health

DANVILLE, Pa. – Geisinger Health Plan is now offering a new self-funded insurance plan for commercial businesses. This more flexible plan option allows organizations to choose the administrative services that fit their needs and budgets. Companies that use this plan will have access to Geisinger facilities and a robust statewide and national network.

Geisinger Self-funded is an ASO (administrative services option) model that allows organizations to choose between an all-in product and a base model, in which they can add any needed services and solutions. The plan also allows you to choose a formulary that best fits your needs. The Geisinger High Performance Rx Formulary maximizes your rebates, while our traditional low-cost formulary drives low net prescription costs.

The ASO is available to organizations with 51+ employees, but is best suited for organizations with more than 100 employees. Plan highlights include:

Financial flexibility – Allows for carve-out of stop-loss, and groups of 250+ may carve out Rx
Low-cost base medical fees – Includes essential core services such as enrollment, claims processing, customer service and standard reporting
Network – GHP has 213 hospital contracts in our service area and we continue to expand our network throughout Pennsylvania with the additions of Lehigh Valley Health Network and UPMC hospitals in Dauphin and Cumberland counties. Members also have access to the national First Health Network which includes over 5,000 hospitals, 90,000 ancillary facilities and over 550,000 providers at 1 million health care service locations for out-of-area coverage.
Geisinger Commercial Group has received the J.D. Power Award for best commercial health plan in Pennsylvania three years in a row, ranking No. 1 in customer satisfaction in terms of coverage and benefits, cost, information and communication, and customer service.
