Geisinger and Hydra Health to highlight cancer survivors throughout June
A Survivors Spa Happy Hour will be held on Tuesday, June 13, from 3 – 6 p.m. at Hydra Health in the lobby of the Henry Cancer Center at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. The happy hour is open to all cancer survivors, patients and their family, friends and caregivers and will feature express facials, clean beauty makeup consultations, a spa basket raffle and mocktails.
Rebecca Vanderveken, breast cancer nurse coordinator, will also host a 4-week education series, Living Beyond Breast Cancer. The series, which covers topics for women diagnosed before age 50, will provide answers and resources on common concerns.
The first session, Hot and bothered: coping with early menopause, featuring yoga with Candy’s Place, will be held June 21 from 5 – 6 p.m. in the Kistler Room at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.

• Managing long-term side effects, staying healthy, featuring oncology nutritionist Meredith Yozwiak • June 28, 5 – 6 p.m., Kistler Room
• Intimacy after cancer treatment, a self-care spa event with Hydra Health • July 13, 5 – 6 p.m., Cancer Center Conference Room
• Transitioning to a new normal with oncology psychologist Ashley Perez, PsyD • July 19, 5 – 6 p.m., Kistler Room
The Henry Cancer Center is one of 19 cancer centers in the country to host this series.
