SCRANTON – Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine invites the community to a special event focused on maintaining mental health and well-being during the holiday season. Celebrating Self-Care: Prioritizing Wellness and Mental Health during Festive Times will be held Nov. 30 at 5:30 p.m. at the Medical Sciences Building, 525 Pine St., Scranton.
“Times of joy and celebration can be difficult for some,” said Anne Gallagher, director of faculty affairs at Geisinger Commonwealth. “Many of us find navigating expectations, emotions and traditions to be stressful. At Celebrating Self-Care: Prioritizing Wellness and Mental Health during Festive Times, we’ll talk about how to navigate the challenges of the holiday season and other special occasions with resiliency.”
The session will be an interactive dialogue based on audience feedback. Continuing education credits available.
Panelists include Geisinger’s Sam Faulkner, PhD, pediatric psychologist; Imad Melhem, MD, chair of psychiatry; Ashley Perez, PsyD, psychologist; and Stephanie Andreacci, licensed clinical social worker. The moderator is Dawn Zieger, vice president of behavioral health.
