Sleep medicine expert, Anne Marie Morse, DO, recognized in group’s inaugural class

DANVILLE, Pa. — Anne Marie Morse, DO, director of pediatric neurology at Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 40 Under 40 for 2024.
The nationwide program recognizes the healthcare industry’s rising stars age 40 and under who contribute to a culture of innovation and help their organizations achieve and exceed financial, operational and clinical goals.
“Congratulations to Dr. Morse for being named to this impressive list. She has rapidly become an international expert and researcher in the field of pediatric sleep medicine” said Frank Maffei, M.D., chair of pediatrics at Geisinger. “She is truly an innovative leader and passionate educator. Her most impressive attribute is her unrelenting advocacy for all children with pediatric neurologic disease. Her unwavering commitment to deliver best-practice care with every patient encounter makes Dr. Morse a remarkable physician.”
Dr. Morse has been the director of pediatric neurology since 2018 and has grown the department from 5 providers to 15, with more than 10,000 outpatient visits per year. She created the Department of Pediatric Sleep Medicine and has helped to deliver transformational care, with more than 50% of visits completed via telemedicine. Dr. Morse believes patients should receive care close to home and established the hospital as a spinal muscular atrophy referral center with the delivery of gene therapy treatments.
“Our inaugural class of 40 Under 40 demonstrates the wide range of talent needed in health care today and in the years to come,” said Mary Ellen Podmolik, editor-in-chief of Modern Healthcare. “They are the rising stars who will propel the industry forward with a focus on innovation, efficiency, affordability and compassion.”
