POTTSVILLE, Pa. — A free car seat check up event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, May 10 in the Geisinger Pottsville Clinic parking lot, located at 529 Terry Reiley Way.

The free car seat inspection event, sponsored by Safe Kids Worldwide and State Farm Insurance, allows certified technicians to make sure car seats are properly installed, teach parents proper installation techniques and answer questions about the proper time to change car seats from rear facing to forward facing. To ensure proper installation, parents are encouraged to bring their vehicle’s owner’s manual and car seat manuals to the event.

Event organizers will also offer a bounty for expired car seats for disposal. People can bring their unwanted, expired or unsafe car seats and receive a Walmart gift card reward.

For more information, contact Jennifer Kotzmoyer or Amy Barrett at 570-624-4444.
