Geisinger receives grant to support transplant patients, families
“Our partnership with Gift of Life has benefited our patients in need of life-saving organ donation,” said Kimberly Rohrer, transplant operations director, Geisinger. “This grant will allow us to better support our patients, families and caregivers before, during and after a transplant and allow them to receive care closer to home.”
Funds are provided to patients on a case-by-case basis. The grant can be used to purchase gas gift cards and assist with lodging.
The grant supports those who travel for transplant-related services at satellite transplant centers outside Philadelphia, where Gift of Life is located.
