Road relocation project to be completed March 7

DANVILLE, Pa. – Continued construction work in front of Geisinger Medical Center will temporarily alter the hospital’s traffic pattern starting Friday, Feb. 28.

During this time, the northern section of Medical Center Drive will be closed from the Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital entrance to Pleasant Street, right before the Abigail (main) entrance. Vehicles will use the southern stretch of Medical Center Drive as a two-way road and turn right on Pleasant Street to reach the hospital’s main entrance.

This temporary traffic pattern will be in effect until Friday, March 7, when the road relocation project will be completed and open with its new, permanent pattern.

Signage and flagger staff will be on site to direct traffic throughout the temporary pattern.

Visitors and staff should be aware of their surroundings and additional traffic on campus throughout the entirety of the construction project over the next few years.

Anyone traveling to the hospital should allow extra time in case of delays due to construction.
