Danville street fair to again welcome new Geisinger residents, fellows
June 16 event to take over Mill Street
SCRANTON – Geisinger Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the Danville Business Alliance will host the third annual New Resident Welcome fair on Mill Street on Monday, June 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.
To accommodate the celebration, Mill Street will be closed between Route 11 and West Mahoning Street from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 16.
New and current residents, their families and the community will enjoy an evening with more than 60 local businesses, organizations and restaurants. The event is designed to greet residents and introduce them to life in Danville.
“Thanks to our vendors and businesses, our residents always feel warmly received. It’s a wonderful welcome to the community,” said Stephanie M. Jones, C-TAGME GME manager, clinical education operations.
This year, Geisinger GME will welcome 176 new residents, with an additional 59 residents and fellows starting later this year.
