Menopause Unfiltered: Free community conversation
Get the facts, ask questions at relaxed forum
SCANTON, Pa. – Area residents are invited to Menopause Unfiltered, an informal, informative conversation about this natural yet often misunderstood transition Wednesday, May 20, 5:30 p.m. at Geisinger College of Health Sciences, 525 Pine St., Scranton.
“Every woman will experience menopause, yet many enter it without the information or support they deserve,” said presenter Katie Shvartsman, MD. “This program is about creating a space where people can ask questions openly, learn what’s happening in their bodies and feel more confident navigating this transition.”
Menopause Unfiltered is for women at any stage of life and men who want to better understand and support the women in their lives.
Attendees will learn about:
● Common signs and symptoms of perimenopause and menopause
● The biological changes occurring during the menopause transition
● Hormonal and non-hormonal management options
● The impact of menopause on sex, intimacy and relationships
● The importance of early awareness and education at any age
“The goal is to start an open, honest dialogue about this topic,” Shvartsman said. “Together, we can reduce the stigma about menopause and help people make informed health and relationship decisions.”
