The Office of Student Affairs coordinates campus-wide activities, programs and services that foster students' academic, personal and professional development. We help students organize educational, cultural, social and wellness activities.

Nursing orientation program

The School of Nursing helps students adjust to a new learning environment by holding orientation sessions. 

Incoming nursing students can expect:

  • Opportunities for meaningful interactions with peers, faculty, staff and administration to promote community
  • Referrals for academic support based on pre-matriculation assessments
  • Ways to achieve success in academic life, social relationships and out-of-class learning experiences
  • Communication of the school’s expectations for academic responsibility and professional integrity, advising, student mistreatment, student records and disciplinary action policies
  • An understanding of available resources, including information about public safety, the medical library, information technology, diversity, counseling services, academic support, student health and financial aid.
Career engagement efforts

The Office of Student Affairs provides professional coaching and resources students can use to improve their communication skills by developing competitive resumes and cover letters and participating in mock interviews.
Student engagement activities

The Office of Student Affairs helps students organize educational, cultural, social and wellness activities in conjunction with the Center for Student Life and Wellness. 
Clubs and organizations

Clubs and organizations offer students the opportunity to participate in academic, cultural, social and wellness activities. We collaborate with the Nursing Student Council to foster the development of new clubs.

Student Nurses Association

The Student Nurses Association works with elected student leadership on policy development, accreditation needs and curricular and student affairs initiatives. 
Nursing Student Council (NSC)

The Nursing Student Council represents the united voice of nursing students and provides programs and activities that support the school’s mission and core values. The elected officers work to strengthen bonds among students, faculty, staff and administration.
