“I really should have done it much sooner,” says Clifford Township resident Beth Sedlak. “I suffered with knee pain for more than 20 years!” A golf professional, softball coach and mom of three young girls, she kept putting off knee surgery because of her busy schedule. “I thought dealing with the pain was easier than having to rest and recuperate.”
The active 47-year-old knew it was time to get help after she needed a baseball bat to help her stand up from a squatting position. “At that point, I knew I couldn’t walk off the pain anymore.”
Beth sought the advice of Geisinger orthopaedic surgeon Dr. John Doherty, who told her it was time for a knee replacement.
“I’m not quite at 100% yet but I’m back on the golf course and coaching softball for my kids again. Thanks to Dr. Doherty, I’m not icing my knee every night.”
