Dolph Courchaine


Dolph Courchaine is the associate chief information officer for Geisinger Health Plan. In this role, he’s responsible and accountable for information technology.

Courchaine joined Geisinger Health Plan in 2013, with more than 33 years of experience providing technology solutions to healthcare organizations. He initiated the review, selection, planning and board level approval for a new insurance claims/administrative system and is currently overseeing and driving this $70 million three-year project. 

Courchaine began his career as a computer programmer in one of the nation’s first federally qualified Health Maintenance Organizations, created by the HMO act of 1973.  

Prior to joining Geisinger Health Plan, he held executive positions at several managed care organizations, including vice president and chief information officer at M-CARE; University of Michigan Health System, chief of applications at Sisters of Mercy Health System and senior vice president and chief information officer at Wellmed Medical Management, in San Antonio, Texas.

He received a bachelor of science degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
