Lisa Golden, RN, MHA, BSN, ACM
Chief Operating Officer, Geisinger Health Plan
She was involved in strategic planning, budgetary/capital planning, business/facility development, financial performance, clinical quality improvement, and partnered with the chief medical officer in medical staff functions and physician recruitment. She also oversaw a $97.1 million expansion project that consists of an 18-bed state-of-the-art intensive/critical care unit, operating suite with one area dedicated to a hybrid room, clinical exam space and an expansive new main lobby.
Prior to joining Geisinger in 2006, Lisa served in a leadership position in care management at Geisinger Wyoming Valley until May 2013 when she joined GCMC as associate vice president, clinical program development. Since joining GCMC, she has established herself as a capable leader working in collaboration with the leadership team at GCMC and service line leadership.
Lisa earned an MHA in health administration from Kings College and a BSN in nursing from Wilkes University. She is a member and certified by the American Case Management Association (ACMA).
Lisa is the 2011 recipient of the Geisinger Division of Quality and Safety Award. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation Board of Directors, the Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce Board, and the Children’s Advocacy Center Board of Directors.
Lisa currently serves as chief operating officer of Geisinger Health Plan. She is responsible for management, process improvement and planning within the overall insurance operations.
Prior to her present role, she served as the chief administrative officer for Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She was responsible for the overall operations of the hospital, a 293-bed community hospital and level 2 trauma center.
