Marketplace health insurance

2024 Open Enrollment is now closed

Don’t forget: Pennsylvanians are enrolling through Pennie®

You can visit pennie.com or call the state-based exchange at 844-844-8040 to find information and assistance on your health insurance.

Annual Open Enrollment begins every year on Nov. 1 and continues through Jan. 15. If you enroll between Nov. 1 and Dec. 15, your coverage will start Jan. 1. You can make changes as late as Jan.15 for a Feb. 1 coverage date.

After Open Enrollment, if your circumstances change – like losing your current coverage, getting married, having a baby or moving to a different zip code in Pennsylvania – you may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).  If you’re eligible, the SEP lets you enroll in health insurance outside of the yearly Open Enrollment period.

Affordable Care Act metallic levels

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) outlines tiers of health insurance coverage that help you understand how costs are split between you and the plan you choose.

  • With Gold plans, you'll generally pay more in monthly premiums and less out of pocket for medical care.
  • With Silver plans, you'll generally pay less for monthly premiums and more out of pocket for medical care.
  • With Bronze plans, you'll generally pay the least in monthly premiums and the most out of pocket for medical care.

As required by federal regulations and using the Federally prescribed MLR methodology, the projected loss ratio exceeds 80%.
