Dietetic internship

The Geisinger dietetic internship is a full-time, 41-week, post-baccalaureate program which opened in 1992. The program prepares up to six interns to assume entry level positions in the field of nutrition and dietetics.

The dietetic internship is currently granted accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 120 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 2190, Chicago, IL, 60606-6995, 800-877-1600 ext. 5400. The program underwent a site visit in March 2016 and was notified regarding ACEND's continued accreditation decision in February 2017. Our accreditation is through June 2025.

Note: Effective November 1, 2021, in compliance with Geisinger Mandatory Vaccine Policy, all students enrolled in a Geisinger branded educational program are required to have a COVID-19 vaccine. Interns will be required to show proof of full vaccination prior to starting the dietetic internship.
