Nutrition education in addiction treatment

People struggling with an eating disorder may also turn to alcohol or drugs to cope. At Marworth, we have a registered dietician on staff who is experienced with co-ocurring eating disorders and substance abuse.

In addition to recovery support groups, Marworth offers a nutrition-focused educational program to help addicted individuals with an eating disorder start on a road to recovery.

The Marworth Nutrition Education Program focuses on topics such as:

  • Substance abuse affects food relationships
  • Building balanced meals
  • Sugar and recovery
  • What type of eater are you?
  • Mindful eating

Additionally, our dietician presents a monthly nutrition education seminar for all Marworth patients.

Call Marworth at 800-442-7722 or email marworth@marworth.org to speak with an admissions counselor. You can enroll in an addiction rehab program yourself or refer someone else for treatment. Many individuals are referred to Marworth by a family member, family doctor, therapist, employer, employee assistance program, insurance provider, clergy, community organization, or another drug and alcohol rehab center.
