Do you see a message that your account is locked?

If your account is locked, please reset your password by clicking on the Forgot Your Password link above the Sign In button. If you still have issues, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us.

Have you forgotten your password?

To reset your password and unlock your account, click here. If you have set your browser to save passwords, and if you and someone else with a myGeisinger account uses the same computer, once you change your password you will need to:

  • Highlight the black dots
  • Tap the Delete key to erase the black dots in the password field
  • Type in your password

If you forgot the answer to your challenge question, you may opt to instantly access your account by answering questions to verify your identity by clicking here, or if you have already tried to reset your password and are still having problems, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us.

Have you forgotten your user ID?

To find your user ID, click here. If you have already tried to find your user ID and are still having problems, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us.

Are you a new user and want to activate your myGeisinger account?

If you would like to enroll in myGeisinger, open mygeisinger.org and choose the Sign-Up button next to New to MyGeisinger?, then identify yourself, create your user ID and password, choose a security question and answer, and accept the terms and conditions. If you have an activation code that is less than 60 days old you can use your code to activate your account. Your activation code is case-sensitive.

If you do not have an activation code, you may also activate your account online answering questions provided by a third party to verify your identity. This will activate your account and you will need to accept a second set of terms and conditions.

If you are having any of the following problems, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092:

  • System says activation code is not valid.
  • My activation code is expired.
  • I cannot find my activation code.
  • I cannot answer the third party questions.

View a child's or another patient's account

See my child’s account – Child under 14 years old

If you have never been seen at a Geisinger location, you may still request access to your child’s online medical record by going to myGeisinger.org. Select the Register tab and click on Parents. Print out the form, complete it and send it in as instructed. When the form is received an account will be created for you and you will be notified via letter.

If you have been seen at a Geisinger location but do not have a myGeisinger account, from myGeisinger.org, click on the Sign-Up button next to New to myGeisinger. Follow the instructions on the screen to identify yourself and register for myGeisinger as described in the Access/Account issues/Activation section above.

Once you have a myGeisinger account, login, place your mouse over the Family Records tab at the top of the myGeisinger homepage and select Request Family Record Access. You will see the authorization forms on the right, under the picture of the family.

  • Child under 14 years documentation: You can fill out the form and submit it electronically. We do not require the form to be sent to our offices unless you are not an active myGeisinger user. The process will take five to seven days once the form has been received. You will receive a myGeisinger message or a letter with detailed instructions when you have been granted access to the child’s record. If you still need help, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us. Please note: When your child turns 14, you will need to re-apply for proxy access with your child's signature (see next section).


See my child’s account – Child 14 to 17 years old

If you have never been seen at a Geisinger location, you may still request access to your child’s online medical record by going to myGeisinger.org and on the home page please go to the Register menu and click on Parent.  A form can be completed and sent in.  It will be required to be printed out.  When the form is received an account will be created for you.

If you have been seen at a Geisinger location, from myGeisinger.org, click on the Sign-Up button next to New to myGeisinger. Follow the instructions on the screen to identify yourself and register for myGeisinger. You will need to enter an activation code after registering. If you do not have an activation code, you may also use the instant activation process by selecting the option I would like instant access to my online medical record. Log into your myGeisinger account, place your mouse over the Family Records tab at the top of the myGeisinger home page and select Request Family Record Access. You will see the authorization forms on the right, under the picture of the family.

  • Child 14 to 17 years documentation: Print, read and complete the request form in its entirety, including your child's signature as well as your own signatures in the spaces provided on the form. You may also elect to allow your child to have access to his/her own account by indicating on the form. You can mail the form to the address listed at the bottom of the form or fax it to the fax number at the bottom of the form. The process will take five to seven days once the form has been received. You will receive a myGeisinger message or a letter with detailed instructions when you have been granted access to the child’s record. If you still need help, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us. Please note: When your child turns 18, if you still need access to their account, you will need to re-apply for caregiver access with your child's signature (see next section).

Caregiver access (Patient can sign for permission)

If you have never been seen at a Geisinger location, you may still request access to the patient’s online medical record by going to myGeisinger.org and on the home page please go to the Register menu and click on Caregivers.  A form can be completed and sent in.  When the form is received an account will be created for you.

If you personally have been seen at a Geisinger location, from myGeisinger.org, click on the Sign-Up button next to New to myGeisinger. Follow the instructions on the screen to identify yourself and register for myGeisinger. You will need to enter an activation code after registering. If you do not have an activation code, you may also use the instant activation process by selecting the option I would like instant access to my online medical record

  • Caregiver: You must be a parent or caretaker who helps in the care of a Geisinger patient. Print, read and complete the request form in its entirety, including all necessary signatures in the spaces provided on the form. Signatures must be obtained by both the patient and the caregiver. If a patient cannot provide his or her signature due to medical reasons, follow the instructions for requesting Power of Attorney. The process will take five to seven days once the form has been received. You will receive a myGeisinger message or a letter with detailed instructions when you have been granted access to the patient’s record. If you still need help, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us.

Power of Attorney (Requestor has POA document)

If you have never been seen at a Geisinger location, you may still request access to the patient’s online medical record by going to myGeisinger.org and on the home page please go to the Register menu and click on Caregivers.  A form can be completed and sent in.  It will be required to be printed out.  When the form is received an account will be created for you.

If you have been seen at a Geisinger location, from myGeisinger.org, click on the Sign-Up button next to New to myGeisinger. Follow the instructions on the screen to identify yourself and register for myGeisinger. You will need to enter an activation code after registering. If you do not have an activation code, you may also use the instant activation process by selecting the option I would like instant access to my online medical record

Power of Attorney documentation: Print, read and complete the request form in its entirety, including all necessary signatures in the spaces provided on the form. Proof of Power of Attorney must be on file in the patient's record or attached along with the request form. The process will take five to seven days once the form has been received. You will receive a myGeisinger message or a letter with detailed instructions when you have been granted access to the patient’s record.  If you still need help, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us.


Errors in your myGeisinger medical record

MyGeisinger only reflects what is in your Geisinger medical record, and cannot be changed by the technical support team. If you believe something is not correct in your medical record, contact your doctor's office using myGeisinger's secure messaging or contact the Privacy Office at 570-271-7360.

Lab/Results/Scans

Are you trying to find your lab results? 

Click the Medical Record tab and choose Test/Lab Results

To see hospital results, click the Include Hospital Results button. 

What labs can I see in myGeisinger?

If your labs were completed at Viewmont, they may not appear in myGeisinger.

Labs that may appear in myGeisinger are those that were: 

  • Ordered by a Geisinger doctor and completed at a Geisinger lab
  • Ordered by a non-Geisinger doctor but completed at a Geisinger lab
  • Completed during a hospital stay – viewable by clicking the Include Hospital Results button under Test and Lab Results

Labs that may not appear in myGeisinger include: 

  • Those that were ordered by a non-Geisinger doctor and completed at a non-Geisinger lab (including Viewmont)
  • Those that are still in process of being analyzed
  • Those that were conducted very recently
  • Those that were scanned into your medical record, even if performed at a Geisinger facility, for the following: Pathology, cytology, biopsies, some cardiac studies, some CT scans, missing labs/test results

If you wish to access these lab results, call or message your doctor's office.


Do you want to schedule an appointment online?

Log into your myGeisinger account. Click Schedule an Appointment under the Appointments tab, or click the Quick Link button on the Message Center page. Select the type of appointment you wish to schedule from the list of available specialties. Verify or edit your demographics information (e.g., address, telephone). You may need to answer some questions about your symptoms before you schedule your appointment. Choose the location where you would like to be seen, the provider you would like to see and your preferred date and time for your appointment, and then click Continue. Enter a brief description of why you would like to be seen and click Make Appointment at the bottom. Check the View Future Appointments page to make sure the appointment was scheduled correctly. If you are unable to find an appointment slot, click on Schedule an Appointment under the Appointments tab, then click Other Type of Appointment. Complete the Request an Appointment form with details of why you are requesting the appointment and then click Send.

Billing/Payments

If you are a Geisinger patient and need to view or pay your Geisinger bill:

  • To view your bill: Click the Financials tab and select View my Bill. You must create a username and password for each patient's bill you wish to review. For questions about your bill, call the Geisinger Patient Service Call Center at 800-640-4206 between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • To pay your bill: Click the Financials tab and select Pay my Bill. You will need the patient's medical record number and date of birth. If the website is down, submit a request or call the Service Desk. 


Problem paying your bill online or have questions about your bill?

Contact the Geisinger Patient Service Call Center at 800-640-4206, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.


Sending messages through myGeisinger

Messages can be confidential

If another person has proxy access to your account, you will see their name at the top of the message you are sending.  To choose who can see the correspondence, either leave or remove the check mark from the box by their name.

Medical message to my doctor

The providers that will appear in your list are those you have seen within the last three years. If you have not recently seen the provider that you want to send a message to, you will need to call his or her office.


Request a referral message

Select Request a Referral on the Messaging drop-down. 


Send a nonmedical message to my doctor

You can send questions about scheduling an appointment, complaints, compliments, billing questions or MyCode questions. The message must have a subject line.


Renew medications message

You may renew your medications for expired or soon to expire prescriptions. If your pharmacy does not appear, click Other in the drop-down menu and type the name of the pharmacy in the field. Please note, you may only request renewals for prescriptions in myGeisinger if the medication is listed in your account as on file. If any medications are missing, please contact your doctor’s office. For refills, please contact your pharmacy directly.


Cannot find my provider notes from my appointment

If you had an appointment with your provider, and you can see the visit summary but can’t find your provider's notes, click the Appointments tab. Select Past Visits under Visit History, then choose the visit for which you wish to see your provider's notes. Click the Notes tab next to Visit Summary in the blue bar under Appointment Details. If you still need help, call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us.

Can't find flow sheet?

If your provider ordered a flowsheet (for weight, glucose, blood pressure or other factors) and you can’t locate it, log into myGeisinger and click the Medical Record tab. Select Track My Health to locate the flowsheet. If you do not see your flowsheet, send your provider a myGeisinger message to reorder it for you. 

If you do not have a myGeisinger account for your provider to order a flowsheet, visit myGeisinger.org, click the Sign Up button, identify yourself and instantly activate your account or request an activation letter be mailed to you. If you prefer, you may call the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us.

How do I change my demographics?

To change your address, email address or phone number, log into myGeisinger.org and select the More tab. Click on Info/Change Address or Change Email & Preferences.

For name changes please contact your doctor’s office.  

For User ID changes please contact the Geisinger service desk at 570-271-8092 or click Online Request to contact us.


How to change my "To Do" list

The “to do” section in the myGeisinger message center will display outstanding health reminders for you to complete. These health reminders in myGeisinger display when there is no record of the procedure being completed in your Geisinger health record. If you completed a health reminder at a non-Geisinger facility, please contact your Geisinger care team so they can update your record.
