Mohs surgery

Mohs surgery is used to treat skin cancer by sparing the greatest amount of healthy tissue while removing basal cell or squamous cell carcinoma cancer cells.

Mohs surgery is performed in the doctor's office with local anesthesia and allows for any needed reconstruction to be done at the same time.

What you should know about Mohs surgery

  • Mohs surgery combines the removal of the skin cancer with immediate microscopic viewing.
  • With up to a 99 percent cure rate, Mohs surgery has the lowest chance for skin cancer recurrence.
