At Geisinger, we offer one of the region’s only comprehensive breast health programs. Our highly skilled team treats all areas of breast health, with a focus on the early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
Why choose Geisinger for your breast health care?
- Highly skilled team: Fighting breast cancer requires a team approach. Our team includes specially trained oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, psychologists, nurse navigators and genetic counselors. Together, they review your individual circumstances and work with you to determine the best treatment course.
- National Breast Center accreditation: Our breast care is recognized by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). This program only accredits centers that provide the highest quality care to women with breast disease.
- High-Risk and Inherited Risk Breast Clinics: Our High-Risk Breast Clinic helps people facing an increased risk for breast cancer because of their family history, dense breasts and other factors. If testing shows you have a mutation associated with breast cancer, such as BRCA1 and BRCA2, you can receive specialized care in our Inherited Risk Breast Clinic.
- Advanced treatments and clinical trials: We use the latest treatment options including hypofractionated (shorter course) and partial (where only part of the breast is targeted) radiation therapies to treat breast cancer. We also provide access to national clinical trials for innovative treatments not yet widely available.
