Primary Care physician makes pies for patients' milestone birthdays.

“What kind of pie do you like” has long been the question Dr. Leigh Wheeler has been asking his patients for 34 years. The primary care physician has a long history of baking pies to celebrate milestone birthdays. “I’ve probably made close to 400 pies - the patients love it and so do I.” Dr. Wheeler started practicing medicine in 1982 and retired only a few months ago. The last recipient of his confectionary creations was Frederick Ferguson from State College. For his 80th birthday, the octogenarian requested Dr. Wheeler whip up a lemon meringue pie.
