Roadtrip of a lifetime

"My goal is to do all the things that I used to do or always wanted to do," says Tony Harding, a survivor of two kidney transplants and 22 hospitalizations (including treatment for transplant rejection three times). He continues living his life to the fullest by making big plans every chance he gets. While ‘in the chair’ for dialysis treatments, Tony mapped out the road trip of a lifetime, which included stops to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Ohio, a concert in Detroit, a jaunt to Pittsburgh to see the house where his dad grew up, and plenty of pit stops on the road for his four-hour dialysis treatments. He also made a journey to the Kentucky Derby. He credits his team of nurses and physicians at Geisinger with making his adventures beyond the hospital possible. "You can conquer the world once you choose to live," Tony says with tears in his eyes. "They took really good care of me and helped me through it all."
