A special hospice home for end-of-life care

Geisinger Home Health & Hospice strives to keep patients with end-stage illnesses at home, but this is not always possible or practical. There are circumstances that make out-of-home care a preferred choice for loved ones who face a life-limiting diagnosis. We provide this option, offering each guest highly individualized care in a homelike setting.

Maria Hall is part of the peaceful, beautifully maintained grounds of Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Danville, Pa. Located on the fourth floor of Maria Hall, our “home away from home” focuses on maintaining the dignity and comfort of guests and families. Services are provided collaboratively by Geisinger Home Health & Hospice and the Sisters of Saints Cyril and Methodius.

This is a nondenominational setting, so we welcome anyone needing end-of-life care with open arms. Geisinger Home Health & Hospice at Maria Hall simulates the at-home experience, not only for the guest, but also for family and friends.

This is designed to provide care and comfort, similar to what could be experienced within the guest’s home, while lifting task burdens so that important shared time can be concentrated on the guest. While at Maria Hall, guests and families are encouraged to find comfort through their own personal touches, such as a favorite chair, photographs or other belongings, to make their private suite as familiar as possible.

Geisinger Home Health & Hospice at Maria Hall simulates the at-home experience not only for the guest, but also for family and friends. This setting provides care and comfort similar to what the guest would experience at home, while also easing the workload so that family and friends can focus their time on the guest rather than on routine tasks.

Since 1983, we have helped patients and their families complete life’s circle with dignity, meaning and respect. Hospice offers bereavement visits and support groups to family members and others for a year or more after the loss of their loved one.
