The Geisinger Nursing and Health Sciences Scholars Program gives you the financial resources you need to start your career in the medical field.

Thinking about attending nursing school or pursuing a health sciences degree but not sure about the cost? The Nursing and Health Sciences Scholars program at Geisinger can help you reach your goal. And now it’s giving you more options to grow your career.


A career in the medical field made affordable

Pursue a career in nursing or health sciences and we’ll cover part of the cost. In exchange, you commit to work here at Geisinger. That’s right — a guaranteed job, right out of school. The length of your commitment and the amount of financial support depends on which program you choose.

Choose from direct-care options, including:

  • Inpatient RN – $40,000 for a 3-year work commitment 
  • Respiratory therapist – $30,000 for a 3-year work commitment
  • Surgical technologist – $22,500 for a 2.5-year work commitment
  • Inpatient LPN – $20,500 for a 2-year work commitment
  • Certified medical assistant – $7,000 for a 2-year work commitment

Nearly all Geisinger employees are eligible to apply* — no matter which department you work in or how long you've been employed.

Not a current Geisinger employee?** We’ll connect you with a recruiter who can help you apply to any open position in the Geisinger system.

*Registered nurses, physicians or advance practice providers (APPs) are not eligible for the program.

**All Geisinger School of Nursing students are eligible to apply, even if they are not Geisinger employees.


Those eligible for the program can apply up until 12 months before their anticipated graduation date from their respective program.
