Mobile applications for Epic: Haiku, Canto and Rover

Haiku for iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android

Haiku is designed for use with the Apple iPhone or iPod touch, as well as with Android smartphones. It focuses on a physician's workflow and on assessing the patient. The physician can do all of these activities whether he is in the clinic or hospital or on call. Haiku provides several review-oriented features as well as the ability to record dictations, update patient demographic photos, read and act on In Basket messages, and electronically prescribe medications.

Haiku Installation Steps

  1. On your mobile device (setup can only be completed via mobile device), go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download the Haiku app.
  2. After download is complete, close Haiku.
  3. Return to this webpage via your mobile device’s internet browser (e.g., Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer) and click this link: Haiku Configuration.
    When you do, your device will be configured to access Geisinger’s environment and you’ll be directed to the Haiku app login screen. Once completed, the Geisinger environment will appear at the top of the Haiku app.

Canto for iPad

Canto is a handheld application designed for use with the Apple iPad that focuses on a physician's review workflows. Features are based on assessing the patient. Canto provides several review-oriented features along with the ability to record dictations, update patient demographic photos, capture clinical images and act on In-Basket messages.

Canto Installation Steps

  1. On your iPad (setup can only be completed via iPad), go to the Apple App Store and download the Canto app.
  2. After download is complete, close Canto.
  3. Return to this webpage via your tablet's internet browser (e.g., Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer) and click this link: Canto Configuration. 
    When you do, your device will be configured to access Geisinger’s environment and you’ll be directed to the Canto app login screen. Once completed, the Geisinger environment will appear at the top of the Canto app.

Rover for iPhone

Rover is designed for use with the Apple iPhone. It focuses on clinician and nursing workflows for assessing the patient. The nurse or clinician can do many of these activities whether they’re in the clinic, hospital or on call. Rover provides several review-oriented features as well as the ability to document on flowsheets, wound image capture, plan your day with Brain and access Dorothy Home Care.

Rover Installation Steps

  1. On your iPhone (setup can only be completed via iPhone), go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download the Rover app.
  2. After download is complete, close Rover.
  3. Return to this webpage via your phone's internet browser (e.g., Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer) and click this link: Rover configuration.
    When you do, your device will be configured to access Geisinger’s environment, and you’ll be directed to the Rover app login screen. Once completed, the Geisinger environment will appear at the top of the Rover app.
