How to enroll in text messaging

Find the category you need.
Text “START” to the corresponding 5-digit number:

Category 5-digit (short code)

Visit updates 48293

Billing 47382

Pharmacy 47506

Care management 49709

Text messages from Geisinger or those entities participating in the Geisinger shared electronic health record, which may be about visit updates, MyChart account, one-time passcodes, billing notifications, prescription reminders, and care management will be sent to the phone number above. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary. For help text HELP and text STOP to opt out of notifications from a specific short code.

How to enroll or update your notifications from MyChart

After logging into MyChart, from the Menu, click Account Settings > Notifications or search “text.”

2. Click the toggle button next to the Text Message section:

To update/verify communication preferences, click “Manage your subscriptions.”
In the General section, verify notifications are on for your preferred method(s) of contact (email, text, phone, mail).

3. To choose which texts you want, click “Return to communication preferences."

Click the down arrow on the category you want.
Click “Advanced settings” to review and update how you receive notifications.
Select which text notifications you want.

Note: Some notifications are locked on, like email for payment processed. Locked items differ by category (visit updates, care management, billing, pharmacy).
