Neuroscience Advanced Practitioner Residency

Build the healthcare delivery system of tomorrow

About us

Geisinger is committed to providing advanced practitioners (APs) with the highest level of specialized training. Physician assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) have been included in our care model for more than 25 years, and we take pride in partnering with you to achieve your personal career goals. Geisinger’s Neuroscience Postgraduate Residency offers an intense educational curriculum and increased level of responsibility, giving participants an unparalleled experience.

Making better health easier

Geisinger was founded in 1915 by Abigail Geisinger, who at age 85 recognized the need for advanced healthcare in her rural central Pennsylvania community. “Make my hospital right; make it the best,” she said. Today, our purpose remains the same: Everything we do is about caring — for our patients, our members, our Geisinger family of physicians and employees and our communities.

As an integrated health services organization, we’re widely recognized for our innovative use of the electronic health record. Care delivery models like ProvenHealth Navigator®, ProvenCare®, ProvenExperience® and ProvenRecovery are the cornerstone of our value-based care. We serve more than 1 million residents throughout central and northeastern Pennsylvania. And we’re proud to keep better health coming to our communities as we train the next generation of providers at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.

Our physician-led system is composed of approximately 24,000 employees, including 1,700 employed physicians, as well as 10 hospital campuses, two research centers, and a health plan with half a million members — all of which leverage an estimated $7 billion positive impact on the Pennsylvania economy. When you choose to come to Geisinger as an AP resident, you’ll have unprecedented opportunities to expand your education and career, and to develop your personal and professional goals.
