Geisinger Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is ready 24/7 with the staff, vehicles and equipment our communities depend on. As a nonprofit provider, we rely on memberships and donations to help offset the cost of that readiness.

Your membership or gift helps us provide fast, reliable care to everyone in the communities we serve — including you and your loved ones.

Why become a member?

Membership means Geisinger EMS is there for you and your family in an emergency, without the worry of unexpected costs. And it can save you hundreds of dollars. Most insurance plans don’t cover 100% of ambulance charges, but your membership covers copays and 50% of your deductible.

If you need ambulance services, we’ll bill your insurance company directly and apply any payments to your balance. Once your insurance benefits are exhausted, we write off the rest. So, as a member you’ll never have an out-of-pocket ambulance bill.

A family membership covers everyone in your household listed on your application. Members also get a 20% discount on non-emergency medical transport like wheelchair van service.

Some services fall outside membership coverage, including non-emergency transports that don’t meet medical necessity criteria or charges based on mileage or personal preference rather than medical need.

How your donation helps

Your gift helps us provide the most advanced care to the communities we serve. Donations fund new equipment, vehicle maintenance, and ongoing training for our EMS employees.

Want to make a lasting impact? A legacy gift lets you support Geisinger EMS for years to come. There are several ways you can give:
