Everyone deserves access to medically necessary care, regardless of their insurance status or financial situation. We offer payment plans and financial assistance if you need help covering the cost of your care.
Payment plans
Depending on the amount of your bill and your financial circumstances, payment plans are available with minimum monthly payments as low as $25.
You can set up a payment plan by creating a MyChart account or by calling the Patient Service Call Center at 800-640-4206 during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
Apply for Medical Assistance
Depending on your household size and monthly income, you may qualify for Medical Assistance, also known as Medicaid, and sometimes referred to as MA.
What kind of care is available through Medical Assistance?
If you’d like to apply for Medical Assistance, use COMPASS to complete an online application on the Pennsylvania Medicaid website.
You can also contact the Patient Service Call Center at 800-640-4206 and request an in-person appointment. Or speak with a patient financial counselor for help applying for or answering questions about Medical Assistance.
For more information or to apply for financial aid, download our Financial Assistance Policy brochure or our Payment Options brochure in English, Spanish, Chinese, Gujarati, Haitian Creole or Nepali below.
Do you have an HMO plan that does not have out-of-network benefits and doesn’t participate in Geisinger’s network? Consider getting care within your insurance plan’s network to avoid high medical expenses.
Out-of-network services can be much more costly than in-network services. Be sure to contact your insurance company to see if you’re out of network. If so, you’ll be responsible for costs.
If you choose to continue your care with Geisinger, you’ll either need preapproval from your insurance company or you’ll have to go through our financial clearance process. You’ll need to pay the estimated adjusted medical expenses in full before your appointment is scheduled.*
For questions or concerns about your insurance coverage or how to find the most cost-effective care, call the Patient Service Call Center at 800-640-4206.
*Medicaid enrollees will be referred to seek care within their network if they don’t have pre-approval from their insurance company.
