All Geisinger Health Plan members who also have prescription drug coverage with Geisinger Health Plan are eligible to use our mail-order pharmacy.

(We also have retail pharmacies in many Geisinger clinics and hospitals. They’re open to the public, and they also sell over-the-counter medications at lower prices than you’ll find elsewhere.)

Medications you take regularly for chronic, long-term conditions are usually eligible. They’re likely ones you need to refill every 30 or 90 days for conditions such as:

• Allergies
• Asthma
• Birth control
• Blood pressure
• High cholesterol
• Depression and anxiety
• Diabetes (including insulin) and pre-diabetes
• Acid reflux
• Thyroid conditions

We also deliver short-term medications and controlled substances through mail order. You’ll be required to sign for the delivery of controlled substances, such as opioid pain medications and ADHD medications.

Yes! You can sign up for automatic refills of your prescriptions. Once you’re enrolled in Geisinger Mail-Order Pharmacy, you can set up automatic refills on the pharmacy online portal, or we can take care of it for you over the phone.

With automatic refills, we’ll pack and ship your next supply when you have about three weeks of medication left. You may also be eligible to receive a 90-day supply at a time, so you always have your medications on hand.

And if your prescribing doctor or clinician is at a Geisinger clinic or hospital, your Geisinger mail-order pharmacist can coordinate directly with them to make sure there’s never any interruption, even if your prescription expires or you run out of refills. If you see that a prescription has no refills left, call us at 844-878-5562` to make sure there is no interruption.

If you’re a Geisinger Gold member, you could save up to 50% on your copay costs. And if you’re a Geisinger Health Plan member covered under your employer’s health plan (with prescription drug coverage), you could save up to 33% on your copay costs.

And with Geisinger Mail-Order Pharmacy, regular shipping is always free, with no membership required. Even if your medication needs special handling or packaging, such as a cold gel pack, you won’t pay any extra fees.

A Geisinger pharmacist will pack your prescriptions and ship them from our state-of-the-art mail-order facility in Elysburg, Pa. We ship medication in unmarked, confidential packaging. If your medication requires insulation, a cold gel pack, protective bubble wrap or any other special treatment, we’ll take care of it. 

For prescriptions with automatic refills, we’ll generally package and ship your refills about two weeks before you’ve used up your current supply of medication.

You can track your shipments on our website, and you can sign up for text or email shipment and delivery notifications so you’ll always know when your medications will arrive. 

We accept debit and credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. You can also pay by check or money order. We don’t accept cash, routing or checking account numbers as forms of payment. We’ll ship your order once we receive your payment.

Absolutely! If you’d like to discuss your medications with a Geisinger pharmacist, just call 844-878-5562 (6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays). 

Yes. You can arrange for a temporary shipping address by calling us at 844-878-5562. If you will be away for a long period of time, you can also request an additional supply.

Automatic refills are quick and easy, but if you aren’t enrolled, you can request a refill when you have about three weeks of medication remaining. To do it, you have a few options:

• Visit our website.
• Call 844-878-5562 and use our automated system.
• Fill out the postage-paid refill form that came with your previous order and enclose your payment.

Call us at 844-878-5562 after your doctor issues the prescription. Generally, if we receive the prescription by 3 p.m., we can process it immediately and ship it overnight, so you’ll have it the next day. There may be a small additional charge for special overnight shipping.

If you need a prescription the same day, you can also visit any of our retail pharmacies in Geisinger clinics and hospitals. Call the Geisinger Mail-Order Pharmacy team, and we’ll arrange to transfer your prescription to your nearest Geisinger retail pharmacy so you can pick it up in person or at curbside.
