Our transplant surgeries

Liver transplant

For advanced liver disease, liver failure or liver cancer, a transplant may be an option. Your team evaluates your condition, explains your options and prepares you for surgery. After your transplant, they monitor your recovery and help you return to daily life.

Kidney transplant

When you’re diagnosed with kidney failure or advanced kidney disease, a transplant may offer an alternative to long-term dialysis. Your team helps you understand your options, prepares you for transplant and supports you through recovery and long-term care.

HIV and hepatitis C transplant program

This program expands access to transplant for people who have HIV or hepatitis C. You may have more options for receiving a kidney or liver, which can shorten your wait time and get you on the road to recovery sooner.

FAQs

How do I get on the transplant waiting list?

Your care team completes an evaluation to see if a transplant is right for you. If you qualify, they add you to a waiting list and guide you through next steps.

Can I be on more than one transplant waiting list?

Yes. You can join the waiting list at more than one transplant center. You can also transfer your waiting time from one program to another so you don’t lose your place.

What is a living donation?

In living donation, a healthy person donates a kidney to someone in need. This can reduce wait times and let you move forward with a transplant sooner. These kidneys also tend to work sooner and better in the long term.

What happens after transplant surgery?

Your care team continues to follow you after surgery with regular visits and ongoing support to help you stay healthy.
