Geisinger Medical Laboratories is dedicated to improving the quality of laboratory testing and services. The Quality Systems Team has developed a comprehensive program designed to monitor and evaluate the ongoing and overall quality of the total testing/service process (preanalytic, analytic, and postanalytic).

Laboratory Quality Systems Coordinators

• Barbara Booth, BS, MT(ASCP)

Barbara Booth is the Senior Quality Systems Coordinator for Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center's and Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre's laboratories. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Bloomsburg University and completed her clinical internship at the Scranton Medical Technology Consortium. She has over 22 years' experience in laboratory medicine as a medical laboratory scientist and laboratory quality management coordinator. Barbara is board-certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) babooth@geisinger.edu.

• Donna Reichle, MS (IHCM), MT(ASCP)

Donna Reichle is the Quality Systems Coordinator for the Geisinger Community Medical Center' laboratory. She also serves as the Chemical Hygiene Officer for the System Laboratory. Donna received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Scranton and completed her clinical internship at Scranton Medical Technology Consortium. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Integrated Healthcare Management from Western Governors University. She has over 23 years’ experience in laboratory medicine as a medical laboratory scientist and in laboratory management. • Joseph Yale, BS, MT(ASCP)C, TC(NRCC)

Joseph Yale is the Quality Coordinator for Geisinger Medical Center. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Scranton and completed his clinical internship at the Geisinger School of Medical Technology. He has over 40 years of experience in laboratory medicine as a medical laboratory scientist, chemistry technologist, toxicological chemist, client services coordinator, customer care representative and clinic laboratory team leader.
