Mr. Maday grew up in the area and joined the U.S. Air Force after high school. He served as a combat medic in the Vietnam War. A Hometown Hero banner honoring his service is displayed on North Washington Street in town.
During his career, Mr. Maday worked for the federal government, IBM and the Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce.
“I have perception of what I consider high caliber,” he says. “Geisinger 65 Forward deserves high marks. It’s a unique approach, the way it’s all put together. It’s very businesslike, very professional and very efficient.”
