What is a Health Care Quality Unit (HCQU)?

HCQUs support the state intellectual disability community system. They build capacity and competency to meet the physical and behavioral healthcare needs of Pennsylvanians with intellectual and developmental disability/autism (IDA).

The Central PA HCQU provides IDA training and resources to individuals to enhance their health and wellness.

The HCQU is part of Geisinger, under the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and the Office of Developmental Programs.

HCQUs are the responsible entity to county IDA programs for the overall health status of individuals enrolled in their services.

Central PA HCQU serves Blair, Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Schuylkill, Snyder and Union counties.
