Geisinger performs minimally invasive and robotic surgeries where possible, even for the most complex procedures. Your surgeon will speak with you to determine your best treatment plan.
Do you offer surgery near my home?
With 9 hospitals and several outpatient surgery centers across northeastern and central Pennsylvania, you won’t have to travel far to get the care you need. We’ll discuss all options with you to make sure your surgery location is as convenient as possible.
Is surgery necessary?
We believe in performing surgery only when absolutely necessary. If you want to explore other treatment options, your doctor or surgeon will talk to you about what’s available to you.
How do I prepare for surgery?
Because every surgery (and body) is unique, your surgical team will give you detailed instructions to follow before and after your surgery. Be sure to keep all pre-surgery appointments so you have the information you need to recover smoothly.
What can I expect my recovery to be like?
Depending on your procedure, you may be able to go home the same day. If you have a more intensive surgery, we’ll work with you and your loved ones to develop a treatment plan to get you back to daily life as soon as possible.
