Change in Coverage for PEBTF Members

Effective Jan. 1, 2026, the Pennsylvania Employees Benefit Trust Fund (PEBTF) will no longer offer health plans through Geisinger Health Plan (GHP). Beginning in 2026, PEBTF will offer a statewide Custom HMO plan through Aetna.

PEBTF employees and non-Medicare retirees and their dependents who wish to remain in the Custom HMO will be automatically enrolled into the Aetna Custom HMO.

GHP has been proud to provide HMO coverage to PEBTF members for many years. As this transition occurs, please note the following important billing updates:

• When seeing a PEBTF Custom HMO member in 2026, it’s essential to obtain their new Aetna insurance card for accurate billing.
• Claims submitted to GHP for PEBTF members with dates of service after Dec. 31, 2025, will be denied due to termination of coverage.
• Claims for services rendered through Dec. 31, 2025 will continue to process throughout 2026, in accordance with timely filing requirements.
