Extra Help is a financial assistance program available for Medicare Part D monthly premiums, annual deductibles and prescription copays, and is administered by the Social Security Administration and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Financial assistance is estimated to be worth about $4,900 per year, but there is no standard or set amount of financial assistance available to each qualifying person. Assistance will vary per individual qualifications and income levels, and not all Medicare beneficiaries will qualify for Extra Help.
